About our organisation
Adult Literacy Aotearoa (Kapiti) Inc is a non-profit organisation providing a service to people of the Kapiti Coast, which stretches from Paekakariki in the south to Te Horo in the north. We are a member of Literacy Aotearoa Inc.
We help adults of any age who need to improve their literacy, communication and numeracy problems. Whether you have just left school and need literacy support to get a job, or want to read to your grandchildren but missed out on schooling, we can help you.

Can we help you?
You can:
- Get help with reading, writing, spelling or doing everyday maths.
- Learn to fill in forms, write a CV or complete a job application.
- Learn the Road Code to pass your Learner Licence test.
- Learn study skills or get help with a course.
- Learn to use a computer or extend your computer skills.
- Improve your communication skills.
We offer:
- One-to-one tuition (just you and the tutor).
- Small group classes
- Friendly, qualified tutors.
We promise:
- Confidential service (we won’t talk to anyone about you unless you say we can).
- It won’t cost you anything.
- We will help you with whatever you want to learn.
